Well we are once again getting ready to leave, but why is it that I do all this stuff before I leave? These are defintely things I do because it was always what my Mom did. And these are the stuff that I said I would never do when I grew up, but I do. You wonder what these are:
Always put on clean sheets
Clean the house top to bottom
Make sure there is no dirty laundry
All the dishes are cleaned
You want to know why, because my Mom said if something happened to me while I was gone at least people would know that I kept a clean house and the bedsheet were clean, haha!!!!! But I still do this after all of these years.
Maybe one of these days, I just won't do this. You want to know why? Because when we get back from our travels, the house is dusty, we may bring back dirty laundry and who really cares about the dishes, they are in the diswasher!!!
Well see what happens, but until then, I do all of this stuff.

My mom-in-law makes sure to wash her dishes before leaving the house - 'just in case'...
then folks won't know how high she really does pile her dirty dishes!
I generally tidy up too - mainly because things are such a mess when one returns (need to unpack the bulging suitcase, other stuff to deal with from the trip) that to have the house look clean-ish is a nice welcome home, wouldn't you agree?
